Additional Information

Various new age/jazz/folk performances from the same band as Tape 40, with varying instrumentation and personnel. Begins with the band warming up, then humming a drone. The 1st song lasts 18 minutes - more rock/new age than Tape 40, albeit with extensive improvisational sections, instrumentation made up of saxophone, 2 acoustic guitars, an electric guitar, flute and drum kit. The music gets noisy/slightly atonal towards the end, with use of feedback. After this, the film cuts to one of the guitarists talking - he mentions Sri Chinmoy referring to him as ‘my teacher’, as well as someone called George Lee (sp?) who he introduces to the stage. Further songs follow, but these are more folk-oriented (one is introduced as a traditional folk song) with different members of the band playing in different songs, with varying numbers of vocalists, acoustic guitars and sparse percussion such as bongos and bells. There is also a reading of a poem from one of the band. The camera is fairly continuous, with some close-ups and cuts between songs. Finishes on a complex new age/folk acoustic guitar duet with voice.
